J.D. ROESER is a bi-coastal stylist and costume designer between New York City and Los Angeles. His creative vision stems from a childhood love for high fashion magazines and beautiful photography. He has always had an appreciation for art that sets a cultural tone.
Roeser studied at The Art Institute of Seattle and moved to Los Angeles following his graduation. He began his career in fashion creating in-store visuals for Diesel and Club Monaco. Costume designers in the business saw Roeser’s talent and encouraged him to explore assisting stylists and costumers in the industry. Roeser discovered his true passion and never looked back.
Roeser worked in-house for Levi Strauss & Co for five years as a senior manager of brand environment for the United States and Canada. He has also been featured as a fashion expert on TV, in between styling A-list celebrity clients such as Christina Aguilera and Kylie Minoque. His more recent work can be found in advertising campaigns featuring print, video, and out-of-home ads for brands like Levi’s and Wet Seal.
Roeser has been recognized by industry peers for his strong work ethic and calm demeanor. He is also known for being flexible and willing to travel to tough settings in nature like glaciers, jungles, mountains, sail boats with monster swells and The Ice Hotel all to get the perfect shot. His work is his priority.
Since 2006 he has worked with Kids For Tomorrow, a nonprofit organization that sponsors schools in Kenya and helps build local businesses. He is also the co-founder of Jibs — a hand crafted, family-owned Brazilian shoe company.
Roeser currently resides in New York City.
