Davey Matthew is a seasoned hairdresser based in New York City whose experience spans print, film, runway and commercial styling. Davey brings a self described “rough luxury” aesthetic to his work; living in the balance of polished imperfection and unpolished perfection that lends itself to effortless, current hair with a certain je-ne-sais-quio.
Believing that the eye is sharper than the scissor, Davey has dedicated his career to creating bespoke hair, and holds specialized interest in helping emerging talent and brands find their unique identity.
This position has allowed himself to be found published in the pages of V Magazine, VMan, Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam, and Numero Netherlands. In addition, Davey worked on Kacey Musgraves’ 2021 visual album, Star-Crossed, directed by Bardia Zeinali.
