Bio

Robért Behar is a Wardrobe Stylist and Costume Designer who works across Los Angeles, New York and Europe, having built up an international reputation in the fashion industry over the past twenty years.  Born and raised in Paris, Robért began his training at the art school, Atelier Leconte, where his love of fashion was inspired.  Upon graduating, he continued his fashion and artistic education at the Université of Beaux Arts in Paris.

began assisting backstage for fashion shows in Paris, in particular, for famed designers such as Jean-Paul Gaultier and Thierry Mugler.  He then went on to work as an assistant to the Fashion Editor at Domino magazine for five years.

In order to build on his career and expand his clientele, Robért moved to Los Angeles where he continues to work on fashion editorial shoots with publications such as Esquire, Elle UK, Cosmopolitan, Face Magazine (UK), Vogue, In Style and GQ.  He has an impressive advertising campaign and commercial client roster having worked with clients such as Chrysler, Coca-Cola, Mini Cooper, BMW, AT&T and Apple. Some of his most acclaimed celebrities include Eva Mendes and Adrien Brody and forefront musicians such as Coldplay, Janet Jackson, and Mariah Carey. His creativity and love of blending fashion and music together can be seen in Janet Jackson’s latest tour, “State Of The World”. Robert was able to procure a sponsorship from “Fear Of God” where he used the Brand to customize wardrobe for a segment of the show on Janet and her dancers, while design the costumes for the rest of the show. Since 2005 Robért has consistently worked with Janet Jackson on various projects culminating to the outfit for Janet’s American Idol finale in 2010 that he designed and is now displayed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as an Iconic piece in music history.

Robért has collaborated with some of the world’s most acclaimed photographers including David La Chapelle, Matthew Rolston, Yu Tsai, Jean Baptiste Mondino, and Randee St. Nicholas.

Robért currently lives in Los Angeles and divides his time between New York,Paris and London.
